I want to be friends with my ex but how?

my ex and i broke up two months ago..we broke up becuase of a lot of misunderstandings. everytime we walk p each other in school i would pretend to not know him and vice versa althought i do catch him and his friends looking at me alot. Anyways it was the last day of school and I asked him to sign my yearbook, when i did he looked up at me and smiled for 3 seconds or so and when he signed the yearbook he didn't let me see what he wrote and he said that he wanted to write on a special page so i told him to do what ever he wanted. He ended up writing on his homeroom page and he also crossed out his yearbook photo. and underneath that he wrote "do you still remember me?" what does that mean? do u think we could still be friends? i really want to be friends with him. although he might not be a good boyfriend but he's a really good friend
