What can I do to keep my shirts from fading ?

I have several black polo shirts that I really like and that I spent some decent money for. They look great brand new but after several washes they have that white faded haze to them. They don't look as great anymore. Is there anything I can do to keep them looking nice with the deep color? This is not black shirts but my dark shirts in general. Thanks.
