What kind of gun(s) did Robert Neville have in the book I Am Legend?

Pretty straightforward. What kind of gun (or guns) did Robert Neville have in the 1954 book I Am Legend, by Richard Matheson? I recall he had at least one firearm that he kept, but I don't remember if it was ever stated what model it was. I lost the book, and if anyone knows, I would appreciate an answer.
