What is a t-mobile iphone clone?

Ok I'm a little phone illiterate and I'm looking for a new phone on craigslist and most of the phones say CLONED , UNLOCKED, or JAILBROKE what does that mean. I'm trying to find a decent phone for metro. So can someone please tell me what all this is and I seen a really nice one it said cloned iphone what is that?
